Wonderful indeed…Amen?

Wow, first of all, CONGRATULATIONS to PIC sister Gek Ling for successfully organizing this first ever membership camp in Hope Of God Ipoh history and also to all who join in the camp. I believe everyone’s participation has contributed to the success of this camp! Amen? 

Of course, this will be the most unforgettable camp in my life because this camp marks my baptism! Wow …(i simply cant help saying ‘Wow’ over and over again)…Honestly, I have always been wondering what baptism feels like, wondering what happens during baptism and what will take place after baptism u know… These are just the few questions that keep me wondering n pondering upon…However, I have already found answers to them! Praise God for that! Thanks to all the brothers and sisters around me who never gets tired of sharing everything they know about baptism and also with wisdom from God, I am able to find the meaning behind being baptised. Indeed, water baptism is like a public declaration to tell others that you are now a follower of Christ! In fact, all the Heavens sing out in joy when one repented from their sins, Amen? On the other hand, Holy Spirit Baptism is actually a gfiting and empowerment given to those who were baptised in Holy Spirit.

Actually, I have been struggling while making the decision to be baptised, or to tell the truth, i was afraid to be baptised. Wondering what my family members would say about it if they find out, wondering what if I am not as faithful and committed as I would be…I have been praying for lots of times indeed… Especially for Holy Spirit baptism, where from the Foundation of Faith, I learned that to receive Holy Spirit baptism, one must be (a) have faith; (b) ask God with desire; (c) confessing our sins ; and (d) opening our mouths to speak. And i was like keep asking myself : ” Do you have faith?” ; “Do you really have the desire for this gifting?”; ” Are you prepared?” And i was all over the place, having doubts and asking confirmation from God…However God is faithful! He reassured me that I don’t have to worry! Since I already accepted Him as my personal Lord and Saviour, why should I have doubt that whether He will take good care of me and protect me? Why should I have doubts about my own faith and commitment in Him? I should not! In fact, I dont hesitate in answering the questions given during the Water Baptism at all, because i know that He will indeed take good care of me and putting my life in his hands will be one decision that I will never regret! Gosh, I still remember how joyful was the atmosphere when all the water baptism were carried out ( Karen, Mei Le, myself, Kok Hock, Javier, Robin). Wonderful Heavenly feeling man! Hallelujah! And then, at night… Yes, although i have been feeling afraid if I will not receive Holy Spirit baptism and if my desire is not as strong as i thought, however, all I can say is, again, God is GOOD and FAITHFUL!Holy Spirit worked greatly that night! Really vibrating the whole house I can feel, as the Holy Spirit takes hold of all His people in the house! All the prayers crying out to the Holy Spirit is one moment that i can never forget… Praying for Mei Le and i…Trembling i can feel… See the works of the Holy Spirit? And hallelujah, I received Holy Spirit baptism! And i praise God again and again! Wow~

Of course, besides baptism, teachings during the camp are things that we should not forget as well. Praise God for Pastor Daniel and Bro. Kian Wee’s faithfulness and commitment in coming all the way from PJ/ KL to educate us about Hope Of God Church and also the right attitude as a Christian, not forgetting about finding our giftings and using them in God’s ministry. I also like the highlighting of commitment over participation. True indeed, what will become of a church if there is no participation n commitment? In fact, during this camp, we have learnt that we should be one who does not just participate BUT we should be one that commits! In fact, putting all efforts in all of our ministries is God’s command u see. We should really treasure the chance to serve God in a local church and really commit ourselves in everything we do for God, Amen?
