Happy Easter, everyone!
As most of us know, this special day commemorates the day of the resurrection of our Saviour, Jesus Christ, which is the third day after he was crucified. Today was just filled with energy from everyone! There were so many people in the church today that for once I thought our church was too small, haha! It was really good to see the enthusiasm and the spirit of celebration of this meaningful day – even from Mei Le and Christon, who were probably exhausted from Euphonious gave it their all during praise and worship! Thank you Mei Le for graciously inviting us to spend a night at your place, saving us from hundreds of blood-thirsty mosquitoes in the church!
Brother Joshua from Hope Petaling Jaya shared the Word with us today for the very first time, and he reminded us strongly about how much God has done for us, and how much more that we can do for Him and His people. Jasmine shared with us a wonderful testimony, telling us stories of her forefathers and how Christianity was introduced to the people in her village back then by an Australian missionary – very, very inspiring. Aunty Agnes and her little creative army came up with a really cute concept of Easter eggs this year! They included some tidbits as part of the door gift! And they also put up a prayer tree on the wall where we are to write our prayers onto “leaves”, paste them onto the tree, and when our prayers are answered we transform the “leaves” into “fruits”, which symbolizes that our prayers have bear fruit! Creative, right??? The tree is still bare for now, maybe the opening ceremony hasn’t begun, so I won’t post pictures of the tree yet.
Thanks to all who have helped out to make this event a success, and that includes all those who came today! And a special shout out of praise and thanks to our God for His amazing grace!
Ok, here are some snapshots for your amusement:

1 Peter 1:1-5: Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade—kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.

The pics and make-believe dialogues are awesome! The eggs really look like sunflowers, many thanks to Aunty Agnes, Mee Yean, and Agnes! It’s a very memorable first Easter for me. My shepherd gave me a new Holy Bible for my baptism gift. Thanks, Chin Yee! I felt blessed and ever so happy that the church, for once, hasn’t enough chairs for the crowd! 2 very special guests, MK from South Africa and Irene from Sudan joined us for the service too.
My sis shared a verse with me.
Joshua 1:8-9
” Do not let this Book of Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful, Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go. ”
I’m sharing it with the church as a reminder that the bible is His Words for us. We should treasure this guidance from Him and obey it. Before we decide that we’re too sleepy/too busy/tempted-by-movies to study His Word, think first if He was ever too sleepy/too busy/tempted-by-movies (mayb some other entertainment) for us.
Happy Easter everyone!
P.S : Teck Kiong, Christon and Vern are very much welcomed to stay over again =) maybe then, i’ll have more chances to go night supper too.

Hi JC,
You are so right. God knows everything. Even before your birth He knows who you are, and how your life’s gonna turn out.
Just like how you’d describe this as a ‘game’, this game has a lot of outcomes, depending on which path you take. But here’s the interesting part, God gave us the ability to think and make choices for ourselves, on how we want to live our lives. And that, my friend, is called freewill. You see? He doesn’t force it down our throats, but He wants us to come to Him based on our own will and choice.
But you know what the greatest part is? Is that even though He knows we may make wrong choices, He still sent His one and only Son to die for us, to cleanse away our wrong doings. Can you imagine? A perfect person (probably the only perfect person) like Jesus, would pay the price for people that probably has not heard of Him or believe Him. Even I would think twice of paying for a friend’s meal.
If God is a concept, I’d say it’s the best I’ve heard of.
Thanks for asking this question, it was thought-provoking. Feel free to ask more.

Oops, before I forget, here’s a famous Bible verse that kinda sums up what I said:
John 3:16: For God so loved the world He gave us His only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
